Activity 11.

Continuing with the process started two months ago, today we have carried out the last three activities of the first phase.
Activity number 11 will be presented by myself and activities 12 and 13 by my colleagues Hector and Ting.

TO START WITH:

-We open Mission planner

-Click on simulation

-Choose our type of drone (multirotor) and wait to download the firmware, once downloaded the autopilot will be ready and waiting for our simulated flight plan.

TIPS, if you want to change the location for the drone you can click on the right button SET HOME, the simulator is set by default in Australia.

-Once in your desired location you can start your flight plan just clicking with the left button and “drawing” your flight.

Go to PLAN page and start clicking the point that you want.

When finished you will see all the points at the bottom of the page, the next step is click on the first one and put take off and in the last one return to launch. You have also different options, delete points, add points, change altitude,etc.

-Important, once you are happy with your flight plan you have to send the plan to the autopilot. Therefore, you have to write it (click write) and you have the option also to save the plan for another day (right column).

Go to DATA, click on Action and click on mission start (first row left) then Arm/disarm and wait for ARMED message in your flight display, next step is do action, wait few seconds and you will see the drone taking off.

TIPS, we had some problems initially to arm the autopilot, we had to shut down the mission planner few times and reset the program, at the end it worked out.

Once the flight is finished and you see the message DISARMED again, you can check the telemetry loaded automatically, but for that you need to shut down the mission planer and open it again. In telemetry log (DATA page) you have access to the file with the data and also to some graphics of the flight and the telemetry data.
